একদিন একটি দাঁড়কাক একটি বাগানে উড়ে গেল। সেখানে সে মাটিতে একটি ময়ূরের পুচ্ছ পড়ে থাকতে দেখল। পুচ্ছটি দেখে দাঁড়কাক ভীষণ মুগ্ধ হলো। সে ভাবল, "যদি আমি এই পুচ্ছ পরে ফেলি, তাহলে আমিও ময়ূরের মতো সুন্দর দেখাব।"
দাঁড়কাকটি পুচ্ছটি তুলে নিজের লেজে লাগিয়ে ফেলল। এরপর সে ময়ূরদের দলে যোগ দিতে গেল। ময়ূরেরা দাঁড়কাককে দেখে হেসে উঠল এবং বলল, "তুমি তো আমাদের মতো নও, তুমি কেন আমাদের দলে আসতে চাইছ?"
ময়ূরেরা দাঁড়কাককে ঠেলে বের করে দিল। হতাশ হয়ে দাঁড়কাক নিজের দলে ফিরে এলো। কিন্তু তার নিজের কাক বন্ধুরাও তাকে মেনে নিতে চাইল না। তারা বলল, "তুমি যদি ময়ূর হতে চাও, তাহলে আমাদের দলে কেন ফিরে এলে?"
অবশেষে দাঁড়কাক বুঝতে পারল যে নিজের প্রকৃত রূপে থাকা সবচেয়ে ভালো। সে ময়ূরের পুচ্ছ খুলে ফেলে দিল এবং নিজের কাক সত্তায় ফিরে গেল।
শিক্ষা
নিজের রূপ ও সত্তা গ্রহণ করা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। অন্যকে অনুকরণ করার চেয়ে নিজেকে সম্মান করা ভালো।
English Story
Title: The Crow and the Peacock Feather
One day, a crow flew into a garden. There, it found a peacock feather lying on the ground. The crow was mesmerized by the feather and thought, "If I wear this feather, I will look as beautiful as a peacock."
The crow picked up the feather and attached it to its tail. Feeling proud, it went to join a group of peacocks. The peacocks saw the crow and laughed, saying, "You’re not one of us. Why do you want to join our group?"
The peacocks pushed the crow away. Disheartened, the crow returned to its group. However, its fellow crows refused to accept it, saying, "If you want to be a peacock, why are you coming back to us?"
Finally, the crow realized that it is best to embrace one’s true self. It removed the peacock feather and returned to its natural crow identity.
Moral
Embrace your true self. It is better to respect who you are than to imitate others.
